Aspire

Aspirations? Dreams? Visions? Masterplans?

All these words remain dominant through several seasons of my life. I have had dreams for over a decade and counting. Other days, I simply aspired to achieve a certain stride.

In a season, I received a vision for my life from God. At a point, the exact scriptural backing of God’s Masterplan for my life was given to me.

In a nutshell, the mix of the seasons and the experiences through life have always been backed up by the grace of God.

Why am I trying to separate the introductory words today? Well, by reason of an experience I had on Saturday, November 12, 2016. You see, I never understood my love for conferences – it was simply innate- at least, that’s all I thought it was.

Flashback to a memorable day, I was working hard and the next thing I know, a referral was made in the office about yours truly being a Writer.

Next up, I wrote a piece on the spot, based on a request. All of a sudden, from that simple and profound interaction, I received an invitation to speak at a conference.

Wait for it… I’ve been attending conferences since I was six and I began organising conferences when I was seventeen. Although, when I sat down to think that day, I realised it was the first time I was been invited as a guest speaker during a conference.

I have anchored conferences, spoken a lot of times on several platforms, organised conferences and also attended several events *all the glory to GOD*, but I had never been a guest speaker at a conference.

Then it hit me- my love for conferences had also carried with it an aspiration – the aspiration of speaking at conferences. Not only as the anchor (I love anchoring events!) or the host (I can organise conferences for years). All these I had done in the past, and still do by God’s grace 🙂 I found out that I also love to be a guest speaker every now and then. Glory to God! To share and receive knowledge on another level.

At this stage, looking back today, I realise that my dreams, aspirations, vision and masterplan were given to me by God. At every point in time, they remain bigger than life. So, I have learnt in all my seasons to give them back to God and live with Him every step of the way as He brings each and everyone of them to pass. Amen.

Aftermath:
The epic conference that held on a Saturday, 12 November, 2016 was the ‘Aspire to Destiny Conference‘ – tagged ‘From Nothing to Greatness‘ hosted by ‘the Lifespring RCCG’.

The extract of the name of the conference inspired the title of this write-up. I received a Guest Speaker plaque for the first time and kept saying to my host, ‘I have always awarded Guest Speakers their plaques during conferences, but this is the first time I am getting one, God bless you!

It was a humbling experience and I am grateful to God for the success of an ‘aspiration’.

To greater guest speaking events ahead! Amen.
