It’s Perfection!

What is it?

The walk; the spiritual walk with God.

“Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.”- Luke 13:32 (KJV)

I have always prayed for everything that word represents, ‘perfection’. I have prayed in days when I felt strong and the days when I was weak.

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”- Philippians 3:13 (KJV)

It took me four years to get to this paragraph. I still have to weigh the depth of my words, because I am still on this journey. The journey to spiritual perfection.

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”- Philippians 3:14

It was never me all this while, it was the leading of the Holy Spirit… Yes. From the moment I realized this, it made it more relatable. I still pick my words based on the intensity bought along the journey.

“So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”- Romans 9:16 (KJV)

Mercy Lord! Mercy…every day long and a lot more in days when I fall short (in my mind). Why do you think words may not be enough to capture the process?

By the grace of God, I have experienced the truth of the journey towards spiritual perfection. I sat down to write every time a revelation was given to me by the Lord and I would love to share three of these revelations in this edition of the series.

In glorying: Let the glorying be in the Lord. It goes to say…

The very dicey state of receiving accolades, hmmm, when men praise you and you accept such glory for yourself. Ahhhh…something is wrong!

Case study: Acts 12-21-23- ‘And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.’

The glory cannot go to any man…man by himself can do nothing. God is the doer of all things well from the beginning to the end of the age. I have been taught this over and over again, ‘you cannot take the glory for any post written, any quote inspired, any stride made with the #BlessingShares brand.’

If the glory is not for the Lord, I don’t want such praises. I have learnt by God’s grace to say, ‘thank God for the inspiration.’, ‘thank God for grace to write.’, ‘thank God for the post.’, ‘thank God for the talent.’ (this is new).

May God give us all the grace to return all the glory to Him, because, ‘He will not share His glory with us or anyone.’

On Word study: Let the Word of God dwell in you richly. You need a residual of God’s Word to withstand the devil and his agents in the days of temptation.

Jesus Christ used the Word to overcome the devil after His fast for 40 days and nights.

Case Study: Matthew chapter 4 verses 4 to 11. Emphasis on, ‘it is written…’

Recounting an experience: came out of a dream from which my Spirit man was decreeing God’s Word to contend with a wicked one and continued the decree into my state of being awake.

The next time they tell us to read our Bibles, meditate on God’s Word and decree God’s promises to us- let’s just do it! (By the grace of God).

On Praise– Use the spiritual exercise of Praise. You see, the situation within the world in these our days strives to reduce the faith of every child of God (but that devil is a liar!).

You see, in the beginning, it was not so; it certainly cannot be so now. It is worthy to know that God’s children have always experienced situational distress. Yes! Types of distresses? We will find out:

The distress that occurs during the anticipation of a victory; a distress arising by reason of a displacement from a place of comfort and stability (we read David’s story when he ran away from his palace); the distress of tribulations- physically, relationally, spiritually or otherwise (you read the book of Acts and notice the distress the Apostles faced).

Case study: Joshua chapter 6 verses 1 to 21. There was a shout at the blowing of the trumpets.

All these are few examples of the state of distress the environment and situations can place on a Christian’s journey.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

– John 16:33

There is a truth in all these situations above from the Bible…the heroes of faith used Praise. They used a shout! Thanksgiving! Psalms and hymns!

In my days, I have gone through a lot of situational distresses…so every week (by His grace), I use praise via conscious thanksgiving prayer and fasting.

You cannot be overwhelmed, shackled with the medical condition of high blood pressure, emotional depression, anger and dejection when our Almighty Father is a praise away- and does He step in?- oh, every time! Amen.

The how of spiritual perfection? It comes from a personal relationship with God. I can only tell you bits from my journey so far (a post cannot capture it).

It is worthy to say the truth of it all…

 

God shall reveal even this ‘truth‘ unto you.
